Dr. Mayor, known as the Female Indiana Jones and Her Wildness, is an anthropologist, author, National Geographic Explorer, National Science Foundation Fellow, and Fulbright Scholar who has spent most of her career reporting on wildlife and habitat loss while advocating for solutions to the alarming trends. She is also a twice-Emmy-nominated wildlife correspondent, and the author of Pink Boots and a Machete: My Journey from NFL Cheerleader to National Geographic Explorer, which chronicles her unconventional career path and the subject of a best-selling children’s book, Just Wild Enough. She is also now the Director of Exploration and Science Communications at FIU.
Join Dr. Mayor as she takes you behind the scenes of her Nat Geo expeditions, her hit television series, Expedition Bigfoot, and her discovery of the world’s smallest primate. Books will be available at the event for signing.
