Zoo Miami is not only the residence to some of the most amazing animals and lush tropical plants from around the world but we are also surrounded by the most biodiverse forest in all of South Florida. The Richmond Tract contains the largest fragment of critically endangered pine rocklands outside of Everglades National Park. Our zoo is home to over 50 Florida state threatened and endangered species and 12 federally protected species. These natural areas are highly regulated and difficult to traverse. So, we wanted to have a way to bring these amazing animals and plants to you. Enjoy browsing these photos from Zoo Miami staff of the astonishing beauty and diversity of our native species right here in the middle of Miami. Click on any of the gallery categories below to view.
